I have been made redundant twice in my career, so
understand the emotional (and financial!) turmoil this
can bring. I have been headhunted, recruited and managed
teams of people. In the 13 years that I have been running
a recruitment consultancy, I have at all times made a
concerted effort to understand the situations of both
candidates and clients to ensure a satisfactory outcome.
"
"I joined the IT industry in 1984, when I was employed
by Ashton Tate, (then the no. 1 software house in the
world!) It was an extremely exciting time, very dynamic
and very new! There was once an article in one of the
trade magazines entitled 'The Ashton Tate Finishing
School', which was very prophetic.
Many of the colleagues that I was lucky enough to work
with have gone on to be very successful and can honestly
look back and be glad that we were part of that era.
Throughout my career in this weird and wonderful
industry I have had my highs and lows, like us all. I
very much enjoyed the time when I was General Manager
for Microrim UK, which is where I experienced how it
feels to run a small company.
I learnt a lot about technology at Sun Microsystems, and
enjoyed the challenge of assisting in the launch of
their first 'channel' product.
